The latest alpha release of Video Commander, 2026.3.0, is now available for download. This release brings a new VMAF timeline visualization, a full license activation system, and significantly expanded player stats and metrics.
New Features
VMAF Timeline Graph
The Analyze view now includes an interactive timeline graph that plots per-frame VMAF scores across the entire duration of the file. Instead of just a single aggregate score, you can now see exactly where quality drops occur, making it easier to pinpoint encoding issues and compare source versus encoded quality at the frame level.

License Activation
Video Commander now includes a built-in license activation flow. A new License section in Settings lets you enter and activate a license key, and your activation status is reflected throughout the app via a license badge in the title bar and About dialog. This lays the groundwork for the transition out of alpha.

Enhanced Player Stats & Metrics
The Preview player's debug overlay has been substantially expanded. It now surfaces additional playback statistics including buffering state, dropped frames, current bitrate, and resolution, alongside improved quality and bandwidth selector controls. This makes it easier to test adaptive streaming behavior when inspecting HLS and DASH sources.

Improvements
This release also includes a range of UI polish, bug fixes, and internal refactoring to improve stability and maintainability across the app.
